The Cult of St. Yarth
St. Yarth is a personification of Earth, the homeworld's guardian spirit or indwelling vitality. She is a mother-figure, a source of ancient knowledge, and the origin and destination of souls (for Terran species, anyway).
Besides praying to her, her devotees seek contact through:
-
charms and relics of metal, stone, dust allegedly from Earth
-
a collection of traditional benedictory hymns & poems, in Earthron & Terranic, and their translations into Universum
-
traditional offerings of:
- cash (of course)
- fruit
- bread
- scented sand
- relevant hymns, sung, played, written, or recorded
-
purchase of icon cards showing:
- St. Yarth (depicted as a motherly woman in blue and white robes, with a globe or maps, attendant animals, flowers, fruit, figures of significant people)
- Earth maps
- orbital photos
- Earth symbols (variations on the quartered circle)
